Implant Dentistry

A permanent solution for missing teeth

Dental implants provide a secure, natural-looking way to replace missing teeth, whether you have lost a single tooth, several teeth or need to replace a complete set of teeth. An implant acts as an artificial tooth root, providing a strong foundation for a replacement crown, bridge or denture.

Unlike removable dentures, dental implants are fixed securely in place and are designed to look, feel and function much like natural teeth. They can help restore your ability to eat and speak comfortably, while also supporting the surrounding teeth and helping to maintain the structure of your jaw.

At Strand on the Green Dental, we take the time to assess your individual needs and explain all the available options, helping you understand whether dental implants are right for you.

What we offer

An implant is similar to a screw and is inserted directly into the bone under local anaesthetic. The bone grows up naturally around the implant and a crown is then attached to the screw – it looks and feels like a normal tooth. Dental implants can be the solution for patients who have lost all their teeth and do not want dentures.

These are dentures that are attached to dental implants on the upper or lower jaw. They are completely secure and feel more natural than normal dentures because they don’t cover the roof of your mouth – so you can speak more easily and eat whatever you like. In certain cases your normal denture can be used for this treatment.

If you are considering placing a dental Implant, to replace a lost tooth then there may not be sufficient bone to act as the housing for the implant. Bone substitutes act as a matrix for the formation of new bone. Bone substitute is commonly available as either a wholly synthetic material or a bovine-derived material.
